Adam Volk is a faculty member in the Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Notre Dame. He grew up in the Dayton, Ohio area and attended the University of Dayton for his undergraduate education. He earned his PhD in mathematics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he studied graph theory and taught introductory math classes, as well as courses for prospective and current elementary/middle school teachers. Adam moved to South Bend in 2022, and he has been involved with the Riverbend Math Circles since spring 2024.
